Back Safety Schools
This service is offered to educate employees on proper lifting and back protection techniques through simulation of varying work tasks.
Cognitive therapy is the treatment of deficits in attention, orientation, memory, and problem solving that interfere with activities of daily living.
Developmental Testing & Therapy
Ergonomic analysis is appropriate when certain jobs predispose individuals to injury, when new job lines are being built, or existing lines are modified. The analysis can provide insight on safety considerations for employees.
This service develops and conducts an “employee warm-up program” involving stretching which can significantly reduce the work related injuries.
Functional Capacity Evaluation
Hand Therapy & Splint Fabrication
This is the evaluation and treatment of post operative and traumatic hand injuries.
Job Demand Analysis
This service will determine specific demands an employee faces in their job. The information gathered is used to develop comprehensive job descriptions, pre-work tolerance screens, assist in determining an injured employee’s ability to return to work and allows employers to categorize jobs into demand levels.
Low Vision Training
Low vision is training in functional activities and equipment to adapt to usable vision that is severe enough to interfere with completing daily activities.
Sensory Integration Testing & Therapy
Sensory integration is how our bodies organize sensory information for use in daily functional skills. Children who demonstrate difficulties with movement and learning may have problems in processing sensory input. Hanover Hospital's Pediatric Specialty Therapy offers therapists who are trained and certified in testing and treatment of sensory integration problems that can impact a child's performance in functional activities at home, school or in the community.
Upper Extremity Splinting
This is the fabrication and fitting of shoulder, elbow, wrist and digit splints. It is also referred to as orthotics.
Vision therapy is the treatment of visual processing deficits, such as focusing, double vision, visual scanning, visual memory, pattern recognition, visual field, and oculomotor control.
Transitional conditioning from acute rehabilitation up to the time of return to work for employees who have suffered serious injury. The rehab team’s primary focus with these programs is to expose the employee to the demands faced each day in their job to condition and prepare them for their future return to work.
Work Injury Management
- Early Rehabilitation: A comprehensive rehabilitation program including both physical and occupational therapy treating a wide range of conditions from the time of initial injury through return to work.
Work Tolerance Screens (Pre-Employment)
This service determines the physical demands tolerance of potential employees to specific job duties. Our rehab staff will create and implement a test specific to the physical demands of each job or group of jobs to objectively determine job eligibility and appropriate job placement. Potential risk of injury is reduced by matching the employee’s physical aptitude with job demands.
