Hanover Works Welcomes New Case Coordinator

Officials at Hanover Hospital announced that Karla R. Kucera, R.N., BSN, is the new Case Coordinator for the HanoverWorks Occupational Health Services Department.

In her new role, Kucera serves as liaison between HanoverWorks and Hanover area employers.  Her job is to make sure services are provided in an efficient and timely manner, and to communicate with companies.  It is up to her to expedite special care referrals to physicians, and work with third party administrator and company-based nurses and health care providers.   She along with our hospital case managers assist patients with return-to-work planning.  Though Workers Compensation comprises 95% of HanoverWorks’ caseload, the department also provides pre-employment physicals, and drug testing and drug screening.

A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Kucera moved to Ohio following graduation from Penn State University.  In Cleveland, she worked in clinical laboratory sales at SmithKline Beecham, and was recruited by Cleveland Clinic Foundation to develop their clinical reference laboratory.  Prior to her return to Pennsylvania, she was employed in sales, marketing and some clinical aspects at Lake Hospital Systems.
