Reducing Holiday Stress is Topic of Holiday Celebration Program

November 18, 2009 -
Does your heart leap with excitement (or stress) in anticipation of celebrating the holiday season?  Join us as Hanover Hospital’s Speaking Heart to Heart Program presents a special “Holiday Celebration” event on December 7, at 6 p.m., at the Hanover Elks Lodge, 47 N. Forney Avenue.

Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, you’re invited to spend a stress-free evening of food, fun and entertainment.  Guest speaker Dr. Paul Dende, who is a Hospitalist and Chair of the Department of Medicine at Hanover Hospital, will share stress management tips which can help to reduce your holiday stress.  Learn how to recognize holiday stress triggers and how to disarm them before they lead to meltdown and misery.  Find out why it is important to not abandon healthy habits such as getting plenty of sleep and some physical exercise.  Remembering to take a 15-minute “breather” every day just to clear your mind will also help to restore your inner calm.

A family-style turkey dinner will be served, with entertainment provided by Cormorant’s Fancy.  Cost is $15 per person.  Payment is required in advance, with no refunds for cancellations.

Please RSVP by November 27 by calling the Cardiac Rehab Department, at (717) 633-2158.
