Hanover Hospital Announces New Medical Director for Acute Rehab

Officials at Hanover Hospital announce that Kyung O. Yoon, M.D., is the new Medical Director of the facility’s Center for Acute Rehabilitative Medicine (CARM).

Dr. Yoon most recently served as Assistant Medical Director of the DCH Rehabilitation Pavilion in North Port, Alabama.  Board Certified in the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R), he received his Medical Degree at Yonsei University Medical College, Seoul, Korea.  He served his rotating internship at Prince George General Hospital, Cheverly, Maryland, and completed his PM&R residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, in New York, NY.  He is a member of the Hanover Hospital Medical Staff.

Dr. Yoon’s special area of professional interest is caring for stroke, head and spinal cord injury, and he is a strong advocate of preventive health and safety.  “We as a rehab team,” he explains, “recommend a healthy life style, which may help to prevent illness and accidents.”   He is pleased to join Hanover’s CARM unit, noting he has found the staff to be very caring and knowledgeable.  He is very impressed with the unit, which offers comfortable large patient rooms and personalized patient service.  “We are here to meet your rehab needs after illness and trauma, and restore the functional independence that can make your life more enjoyable.”
