Hanover Hospital Welcomes Newest Hospitalist
Officials at Hanover Hospital are pleased to welcome Victor Sidhom, M.D., who is the newest Hospitalist on staff.
Prior to his move to Hanover, Dr. Sidhom was in private outpatient practice and worked as a public health physician. He received his Medical Degree at Faculty of Medicine & Surgery, Ain-Shams University, in Cairo, Egypt. After serving a rotating Internship at El-Demerdash University Hospital, Cairo, and completing a Residency in Clinical and Anatomical Pathology at Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA, he served a Residency in Internal Medicine at Pinnacle Health System, Harrisburg, PA. He is a member of the Hanover Hospital Medical Staff.
A Hospitalist is a physician with Family or Internal Medicine training who specializes in the care of patients who have been admitted to a hospital. By being in the hospital during their entire workday, the Hospitalist can closely monitor their patients’ condition, test results and response to treatment, and communicate with the patient’s own primary care provider.
Hospitalists also care for patients who do not have a local physician or whose personal physician is one of the many doctors who choose to limit their practice to an outpatient
office. Dr. Sidhom joins the team of five hospitalists who are now available to provide 24/7 coverage for patients admitted to Hanover Hospital. They include: Paul Dende, D.O., Perpetua Staub, M.D., Michael Garcia, M.D., Chintu Sharma, M.D.
Dr. Sidhom, who also has a special interest in endocrinology, explained that because there is such good communication and professional collaboration among the physicians here, patients benefit by receiving the best care. The hospitalist team cares for Critical Care, Medical-Surgical and Emergency patients.
