Flu Vaccine Clinics by Hanover Wellness Connection

Hanover Wellness Connection will provide flu and pneumonia vaccines to the community as part of their annual health promotion program.

Clinics will be held at the Hanover Community Health & Education Center -- 400 York Street, Hanover, PA, on the following dates.  Pre-registration is required.

                            Monday, November 5                3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

                            Friday, November 9                     9 a.m. to 12 noon

                            Friday, November 16                   1 p.m. to  4 p.m.

                            Monday, November 19              9 a.m. to 12 noon

Clinics are available to anyone 18 years of age or older, but those in the “high risk” groups (see below) are highly encouraged to receive the vaccine.  Cost of the flu vaccine is $30.00.  An optional pneumonia vaccine will also be available for $45.00.  Medicare Part B will be accepted (please bring Medicare card).  Persons without Medicare Part B coverage will be asked to make a $30.00 contribution towards the cost of the flu vaccine or a $45.00 contribution towards the pneumonia vaccine.

 

“High Risk” Flu Shot priority groups include:

• Persons 50 years of age and older.

                            • Persons with heart disease or respiratory disease.

                            • Persons with chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes or severe anemia),

or immune system problems (HIV infection or receiving medications such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy).

                            • Women who will be in the second or third trimester of pregnancy

during flu season.  Pregnant women need written permission from their physician.

• Persons living in the same household as someone at high risk.
