Hanover Hospital’s Maternity Center Celebrates World Breastfeeding Week

Mothers who chose to breastfeed their newborns during World Breastfeeding Week, August 1 – 7, 2009, were recognized at Hanover Hospital. Every year since 1992, the first week of August has been designated as such by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action.
In celebration, the Hanover Hospital Maternity Center’s Lactation Department staff presented breastfeeding gift bags filled with educational materials, breastfeeding products and novelty gifts. In addition, all breastfeeding mothers who delivered between
August 1 – 7 were entered into a drawing for a Pump In Style Advance Breast Pump donated by Medela, and a Medela Swing pump donated by the Hanover Hospital Apothecary.
In recognition of World Breastfeeding Week, two breast pump prizes were awarded by Hanover Hospital’s Maternity Center.
