Hanover Hospital's "Walk to Remember" Will Take Place October 7
The 19th Annual “Walk to Remember” will be held Sunday, October 7th, at 2:00 p.m., rain or shine, at Hanover Hospital.
This commemorative walk is held every October in recognition of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. The walk is in remembrance of infants lost through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, SIDS, stillbirth and newborn death, and is open to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and friends.
Walkers are to meet in front of the hospital parking garage on Highland Avenue, or inside the garage in the event of rain. Participants may sign the Memorial Book, giving the name of the child for whom they are walking. Pink, white and blue ribbons will also be provided in honor of each child. Refreshments will be available following the walk.
The walk, which goes around the block, provides an opportunity to share your loss with others who have resolved the grief of infant and child death, continue to honor the memory of each child.
The “Walk to Remember” is sponsored by the Infant Bereavement Services Staff of the Hanover Hospital Maternity Center, which provides support to parents who have experienced the shock and grief of pregnancy or infant loss during labor and delivery. This service is provided free of charge to parents by the hospital.
