Wellness Connection Presents Breast Health Programs in Recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Hanover Hospital Wellness Connection will present FREE informative and educational programs in October, in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 

“Ask a Doc:  The Newest Issues in Breast Health”  - Wednesday, October 3,  6 – 7 p.m., Hanover Community Health & Education Center, 400 York Street, Hanover.

A panel of multi-specialty physicians will address all your questions regarding breast health.  The panel includes:  Dr. Susan Peck, OB-GYN; Dr. David Crooks, General Surgeon; Dr. Wesley R. Harden, General Surgeon; Dr. Shanthi Mohan, Oncologist; and Dr. Zeba Syed, Radiologist.  Representatives from the VNA of Hanover & Spring Grove will be available to schedule mammogram appointments for women who do not have health insurance. A representative from the American Cancer Society will also be there with helpful handout materials.

“Getting to Know Your Breasts”  -  Tuesday, October 9,  7-8 p.m., Hanover Community Health & Education Center, 400 York Street --  OR  --  Mon., Oct. 15, 7 -8 p.m., at Guthrie Memorial Library, Hanover’s Public Library.  Discover how to take the guesswork out of breast self-exams by learning:  how to feel for lumps in the breast by using artificial breast models; when to conduct breast self-exams; when to talk to a health care provider; and how to prepare for the details of a clinical breast exam and mammogram.   Information about community resources will also be available. Representatives from “The Feel Your Boobies Foundation” will be on hand at the October 15th event, with their unique products and information.  Enjoy light refreshments, door prizes and giveaways.  Pre-registration is required.  Please call (717) 633-8873.
