Hanover Hospital Presents 2nd Annual "FIESTA!" in Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Hanover’s 2nd annual “Fiesta!” will take place from 2 – 6 p.m., on Saturday, September 15, 2007.  The festive multi-cultural event will take place rain or shine at Wirt Park - Hanover.  Admission is free.

Sponsored by Hanover Hospital and the Hanover YWCA, and coordinated by the local Hanover Juntos-Hanover Together group, the Fiesta will feature music, cultural exhibitions, food, entertainment, games and prizes for those of all ages.  The entire community is invited to learn more about Hispanic culture and symbolize our region’s cultural heritage diversity by marking their own family origin on a large world map.

DJ  Raymundo Alfaro will provide a backdrop of festive Latino and American music throughout the afternoon.  Grupo San Jose will perform authentic Mexican folk dances, and an assortment of Spanish foods will be served, including roast pork, rice, beans, salsa and tortillas.  Dominoes Pizza will also be available.

Fun activities for children of all ages will be provided, including facepainting, crafts, soccer, and a variety of games. And, in the Mexican tradition, there will be piñatas throughout the day.
