Low Cost Ambulance Subscription Now Available for Penn Township and Hanover Borough Residents and Businesses

May 14, 2010 -
No one knows when they are going to experience a medical emergency requiring an ambulance or advanced life support.  Because some insurance companies do not pay for ambulance services or only pay for a small percentage of the bill, that means money out of your pocket.

Now residents and businesses in Penn Township, Hanover Borough and in Heidelberg Township (who receive Penn Township ambulance services) can be prepared for these unforeseen and unexpected expenses, by signing up for Ambulance Subscription services offered by Penn Township Emergency Services and Hanover Hospital’s Medic 46.

For a small yearly donation, Basic Life Support (ambulance) and Advanced Life Support (Medic 46) services will be provided at no further cost to you.  Subscription advantages include peace of mind for you and your family or your employees, reduced expenses, and support technology at your time of need.  Donations are tax deductible.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) unit brings a specialized crew of professional EMTs trained at the Basic Life Support level to provide care such as:  patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, splinting and bandaging.  The  BLS crew brings the ambulance that transports the patient to the hospital.  Advanced Life Support (ALS) is a team of EMT-Paramedics and Pre-hospital Registered Nurses who are specially trained to manage life threatening injury or illness.  The ALS team is trained and equipped with specialty equipment such as defibrillators, pacemakers and ventilators.  ALS professionals are trained in IV therapy, medication administration, advanced airway management, rescue procedures and extrication.

Watch your mail – your Ambulance Subscription brochure will be arriving soon.  If you missed the first mailing in early 2010, there is still time to sign up! If you have any questions please call the Penn Township Volunteer Emergency Services at (717) 637-4949.
