Hanover Hospital Announces New Hospitalist

Hanover Hospital welcomes Michael Kurt Knolle, D.O., Hospitalist, to the medical staff.  A board certified Internal Medicine specialist, Dr. Knolle has experience in hospital-based and critical care medicine, and most recently worked as a Hospitalist at the three Lancaster, Pennsylvania hospitals:  Lancaster General, Lancaster Regional and Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Knolle is excited about working at Hanover, because he has heard such good things about this hospital.  As a Hospitalist, he provides specialized care of patients during their hospital stay.  A Hospitalist is knowledgeable about hospital services, and works closely with the patient’s regular physician, specialists and hospital staff to coordinate medical services specific to the patient’s needs.

Hospitalists also care for patients who do not have a local physician or whose personal physician is one of the many doctors who choose to limit their practice to an outpatient office.  Patients who do not have a regular physician are admitted through the Emergency Room and found a regular physician at discharge for follow-up.
