Got Dirt? Learn From the Experts about Gardening and Heart Health

Want to have fun with your friends, relatives and associates? Learn from the experts themselves how gardening can actually improve your heart, and ultimately preserve the longevity of your health.
Join us as Hanover Hospital’s Speaking Heart to Heart Program presents “Got Dirt?,” a presentation about the healthy effects of gardening, and horticulture on your health. This FREE presentation will take place on May 1, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hanover Hospital Wellness and Education Center, 400 York Street, Hanover.
Keynote speaker Mrs. Suse Greenstone, Horticultural Therapist, will present “Got Dirt! Gardening and Holistic Wellness.” Other speakers include Steve McKee, author of “My Father’s Heart,” Master Gardener Richard Englund, and Mrs. Madeline Wadja, who will discuss “Healthy Cooking with Herbs.” Come and learn from local master gardeners as you discover the benefits of growing your own vegetables. Enjoy fresh flowers and displays by local garden stores, and sample healthy foods prepared with flavorful herbs. Refreshments and free health screenings will also be available. Cholesterol screening will be provided for $22.50.
