Hanover Hospital Offers Highmark Blue Shield "Discover Relaxation Within" to Help Reduce Stress

Stress is difficult to avoid. Whether it’s work or family life, stress touches each of us on a daily basis. But, what’s important is how we manage stress. Register today for “Discover Relaxation WithinSM I,” a four-session series which will take place May 3, 10, 17 and 24, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Hanover Hospital Wellness & Education Center, 400 York Street, in Hanover.
Offered through Highmark Blue Shield’s Preventive Health Alliance, “Discover Relaxation Within” is a wellness and lifestyle improvement program designed to identify and reduce personal stress through practical relaxation techniques and innovative stress management strategies. Participants will learn a variety of skills, including deep breathing, meditation, visualization and progressive muscle relaxation. Upon completion of the program participants will be equipped with newfound coping strategies to manage daily life stressors.
Classes will be led by the following Hanover Hospital health care professionals: Ann Small, Cardiovascular Community Outreach Coordinator; Brady Slater, Medical Fitness Coordinator; Jody Moyer, Clinical Exercise Physiologist/Athletic Trainer; Donna Brown, Critical Care and Certified Holistic Nurse and Adam Bennett, Tobacco Cessation Coordinator and Critical Incident Stress Management Program Manager.
