"A.W.A.K.E." Sleep Apnea Support Group Relocates

April 5, 2010 -
The ASAA-A.W.A.K.E. Support Group meeting location has been changed.  Beginning this month, the group will now meet in the Hanover Hospital 3rd Floor Conference Room D.  Meetings are held the first Monday of each month from 7 – 9 p.m.

Part of the American Sleep Apnea Association (ASAA) A.W.A.K.E. mutual-help support group network, the meetings are open to individuals diagnosed with sleep apnea.  Participants can have a better understanding of the nature of their disorder and their prescribed treatment, thus they are more likely to take appropriate steps in managing their own health care.  Members are also made aware of the latest developments in the sleep field. As informed individuals, they can play an important role in educating others about this common disorder.  Through interactions with others who share this diagnosis, persons with sleep apnea and their families can provide peer support and can share ways to cope with one another, alleviating the sense of isolation common to sleep apnea patients.
