"For Hearts Sake" Fitness Walk by Hanover Hospital Cardiac Rehab Set for April 17
March 10, 2010 -
Hanover Hospital’s annual “For Hearts Sake” Fitness Walk will take place Saturday, April 17, from 7:30 – 9:30 a.m. at the North Hanover Mall.
The walk is held each year to promote awareness of the importance of exercise as part of a healthy cardiac lifestyle and to raise money for the Cardiac Rehab Special Needs Fund. The fund provides financial assistance to patients with medically related special needs.
The “For Hearts Sake” Fitness Walk is a non-competitive event, held indoors, where walkers can choose to walk any distance, at their own pace, to increase their cardiovascular fitness. Every registered walker is entered into a prize drawing donated by local businesses.
There is a $5 registration fee. Registration will take place up until 9 a.m. the day of the walk. Short sleeve and long sleeve T-shirts can be purchased. Walkers may earn a free T-shirt by obtaining sponsors and raising money. Special prizes will be awarded to the individuals who raise the most money.
Registration forms are available at the hospital’s Cardiac Rehab Department and at the Medical Fitness Center located at Hillside Medical Center. For additional information about the fitness walk or to receive a registration and fundraising form, please call the Cardiac Rehab Department at Hanover Hospital at (717) 633-2158 or 1-800-673-2426, ext. 2158, or e-mail: hertzv@hanoverhospital.org.
