Performance For Kids' Sake to Benefit Hanover Rehab Centers

Performance For Kids' Sake will present "Wiz Kids of Oz," performed by Nebula Performing Company from the School of Music and Dance, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center.

Join Dorothy and all her friends on a magical interactive journey through Oz. Bring your "munchkins" along so they, too, can "follow the yellow brick road," and enjoy the show, directed by Lauren Walb, which benefits local children with special needs and their families.

Proceeds from the program will benefit the Hanover Rehab Centers' Pediatric Specialty Therapy Service lending library. Presenting sponsors are Hanover Pediatric Associates and The Evening Sun. According to Jayne Whitman, Coordinator of Pediatric Specialty Therapy, "Over the past five years this fundraiser has generated over $21,500 to purchase educational materials and trial equipment for families of special needs children. These resources could have not been purchased without the unwavering support of this community." Lending Library books and videos cover subjects such as: Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spina Bifida, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Fragile X Syndrome and Down Syndrome...and more.

Hanover Rehab Centers Pediatric Specialty Services provide comprehensive therapy services for children with both acute and developmental medical conditions. Staff members have expertise in adaptive equipment, sensory integration, oral motor dysfunction, neurodevelopmental treatment, aquatic therapy, gait re-education and speech language disorders. Physical and occupational therapists and speech language pathologists work together to design and implement individualized therapy programs for children.
