Caregiver Support and Assistance at Seminar on March 1st

A Caregivers’ Support Seminar will be offered by the Greater Hanover Area Seniors Task Force, on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m.12 noon, at the Hanover Community Health & Education Center, 400 York Street.  The inclement weather date will be Saturday, March 8.

If you are a caregiver for a friend or loved one, you won’t want to miss this FREE seminar to gather valuable tips, support, and information on many facets of care giving.  Local experts will offer three individual sessions entitled: 

“Dealing with Challenging Behaviors,” by Candy Yingling, CTRS,

Education and Outreach Coordinator of the Alzheimer’s Association in Harrisburg

“Communicating with Your Doctor,” by Michael Steelman, D.O., a local family medicine specialist.

“Coping with Caregiver Stress,” by Virginia Galbraith, LPN, of  Mechanicsburg.  She is a caregiver for her husband, an Alzheimer’s patient.  She also provides short-term respite care for family members in need, and does motivational speaking to caregivers.

Representatives from local organizations will also be on hand to provide information about services for seniors.  Light refreshments will be served.

In addition, FREE respite care for your loved one will be available offsite at Golden Visions Adult Day Services.
