February 6, 2009 -
The Hanover Hospital Heart & Vascular Institute’s Speaking Heart to Heart Program is pleased to present “The Art of a Healthy Heart,” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, at the Hanover Community Health & Education Center, 400 York Street, Hanover.

Cardiovascular nurse Ann Small, of Hanover Hospital’s Cardiovascular Disease Management, will show participants how to take an “ART-ful” look at cardiovascular risk factors and share ideas on making healthy lifestyle choices.

“The Art of a Healthy Heart” incorporates various works of classical art, photography and drawings into a unique presentation that address the heart and vascular risk factors that lead to disease.  “Heart and vascular disease have no boundaries,” explained Small.  “It affects young and old, male and female.  Participants will learn about the silent risk of diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol disorders, and learn how to develop helpful strategies for living a healthier lifestyle.”
