Wellness Connection Program Will Energize YOUR Family

The Hanover Wellness Connection will offer “We Can!  Energize Our Families:  A Parent’s Guide to Family Food, Fitness, and Fun,” a four-session program, beginning Tuesday, February 19th, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Hanover Community Health & Education Center, 400 York Street, in Hanover.

Parents of youth ages 8 – 13 are invited to attend this FREE course which features dynamic activities to encourage a healthy weight for family members. The programs will be facilitated by Janice Swartz, Health Educator, and Nadine Wolf, M.S., R.D., Director of Food & Nutrition Services at Hanover Hospital.  The core concept is “energy balance,” or the long-term balance between “Energy In,” (calories from food) and “Energy Out,” (calories burned through activity).  In a fun and hands-on way, the sessions focus on helping participants learn essential skills that can help their families make healthy food choices, become more physically active, and reduce recreational screen time.  Free babysitting will be provided by the Hanover Area Family YMCA.
