New Nursing Director for Hanover Hospital Acute Rehab Center

Officials at Hanover Hospital announced that Diana Proescher, R.N., M.A., is the new Nursing Director of the Center for Acute Rehabilitative Medicine (CARM) and Observation Unit.

A native of Baltimore, Proescher has lived and worked in Maryland all her life.   She most recently worked at Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, as Director of Med-Surg and Oncology, and has spent the majority of her nursing career in nursing leadership roles.  She also has an extensive background in Critical Care.

In her new position, she is responsible for the day-to-day nursing direction of the CARM unit, which includes hiring, staffing, budget, customer satisfaction and policies and procedures.  New to acute rehab, Proescher is busy learning about CARM’s specialized admission and discharge criteria, and its rules and regulations.  She will also be working toward the center becoming fully operational at 15 beds, and provide nursing direction for the new Observation Unit, as part of the hospital’s new expansion addition.

Proescher is very excited to be part of Hanover Hospital and the “great learning opportunities” that come with her new job.   “The patients are fabulous,” she said. “As a nurse, that is what I love the most.  The patients are the reason we’re here.”
