Grand Rounds is a multidisciplinary conference series during which a variety of medical topics are presented by local or visiting faculty. This series is designed to broaden the knowledge and enhance the clinical skills of practitioners, present current clinical information and research that may be applied to patient care, and to assist practitioners in developing lifelong learning skills. Content routinely relates directly to patient care, patient care delivery, or certain non-clinical topics (e.g., teaching, ethical, medico-legal and/or social responsibilities of the primary care physician; faculty development; professional and/or academic leadership; physician-patient relations; and communication).
Grand Rounds is presented in a lecture format with specific time allotted at the end of each activity for interactive learning, questions and answers, and group discussion.
The principal audience for this activity consists mainly of primary care physicians including family practitioners and internists. As a multidisciplinary conference, however, Grand Rounds is also routinely attended by specialists, subspecialists, hospitalists, surgeons, Allied Health Professionals, pharmacists, nurses, clinical support staff, and other health care professionals.
Grand Rounds is normally held every second and third Friday of each month, with the exception of July and August when no presentations are held due to a summer hiatus. Please select one of the following quarterly schedules for a listing of upcoming or past presentations.
The Grand Rounds schedule is prepared by the Medical Staff Office. If you have any questions or suggestions for future presentations, please contact Alan Overly at 717-633-2209 or overlya@hanoverhospital.org.
