Established in June 1999, Hanover Hospital's Community Health & Education Center is conveniently located near downtown Hanover.
The spacious facility provides easy access to health and wellness educational programs and resources, medical clinic services and human and social services.

As the Wellness Connection, the Community Health Initiatives department of Hanover Hospital, we are dedicated to collaborating with our community to promote positive healthy life choices and to preserve health through preventive services and educational programs.

Helping your physician in the detection of specific health conditions, trained staff provide a variety of services, including: Multiphasic Blood Screenings, Blood Pressure Screenings, Prostate Screenings, Skin Cancer Screenings, Stroke Risk Assessment, and Flu Vaccinations.

Women’s Health Conference
This biennial event offers women the opportunity to learn something new, to have fun, enjoy the company of other women and to discover why it is wonderful to be a woman. Each conference offers a new theme with diverse workshops to meet a variety of needs.

Promoting, preserving, and advocating for the health and quality of life of seniors and educating the community about aging successfully.
Spring of Your Life Festival and Seminar for Seniors
The Spring of Your Life Festival and Seminar for Seniors is a biannual event offering a full day of both entertaining and educational seminars on a variety of topics and issues relative to seniors.
Issue of Aging Lecture Series
Free lectures are offered to the public quarterly.
Senior Center Health Awareness Programs
Free quarterly programs are held at Golden Visions, Littlestown, and McSherrystown Senior Centers focusing on aging, healthcare, and lifestyle issues, as well as discussions of community services available for seniors.

Parent-Child Home Program
For children ages 2 and 3, Home Visitors demonstrate fun techniques and activities that will provide parents with the tools to prepare their children to enter school ready to learn and succeed.
Hanover Area Family & Youth Alliance
For parents with children ages 9-14, the Alliance sponsors programs in which families learn skills to strengthen family relationships. Families share experiences and encourage one another as they guide their youth through life’s transitions in the Guiding Good Choices Program. The Participate And Learn Skills program (PALS), Students and Mentors Achieving Results Together Program (S.M.A.R.T.), and the Leadership and Resiliency Programs encourage youth to get involved with initiatives and help decrease negative behaviors in adolescence.
Child Safety Seat Checks
Parents can learn about proper installation and general car safety tips during an individual appointment with a trained technician.
Teen Pregnancy Program
Expectant and parenting teens can become better prepared for parenthood and more empowered about their new family member through education.
Heimlich Hugs
For local third-grade classes in private and public schools, students learn choking prevention and rescue techniques, and discuss how to call emergency services.
Nutricise 4 Life
High school students who are at-risk or obese can apply to participate in this physical education elective and learn fitness and nutrition life skills.

Reaching Out to Families Without Health Care Coverage
Uninsured Outreach:
Personalized assistance is available to help families complete application materials for Medical Assistance, CHIP and Adult Basic Coverage programs. Connecting to health care coverage can be easy! Please contact Brenda Kempa at (717) 633-8874 for an appointment.
Community Care Program:
It is the policy of hanover Hospital to provide care to patients who are financially indigent. The need for charity care will be addressed as soon as the individual indicates a hardship. Requests for Community Care may be made verbally or submitted in writing to the Patient Accounting Department at (717) 633-8877 or the Patient Financial Services Counselor at any time prior, during or after services are received.

Organizations may request use of the facility for a reasonable fee. Physicians are also welcome to request use of the facility for meetings and or lectures.
