Whether you are an avid hunter or a weekend warrior, join us for a special event which addresses the dangers associated with hunting’s strenuous activity and hidden cardiovascular disease. “The Hunter and The Hunted” will be presented on Saturday, August 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Hanover Community Health & Education Center, 400 York Street, Hanover.

Sponsored by Hanover Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Institute’s Speaking Heart to Heart program, this first time event will include a complimentary breakfast, Gun Jar raffles, and prize drawings.  Free health screenings will be provided, and a cholesterol screening will be available for $15.  Local hunting outfitters and supply stores will be on display.

Other features include presentations by Dr. John Lunsford, Gander Mountain, and the PA Game Commission.  The Gander Mountain presentation will focus on the importance of fitness before a hunt, and the health benefits of stalking during archery season.  Pennsylvania mammals and their role in the food chain will be discussed by the PA Game Commission, who will provide hands-on wildlife information on many of Pennsylvania’s most common mammals.

“The Hunter and the Hunted” is a free event, but space is limited.  Registration is required by August 21st.  Please call (717) 633-2158.
