New Sinus and Allergy Treatments are Topic of Free Community Lecture

A free community lecture entitled "Updates: Sinusitis & Allergies - New Medical and Surgical Treatments" will take place on Thursday, December 4th, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., at the Hanover Community Health & Education Center, 400 York Street, Hanover.

The lecture will be presented by Zaher Srour, M.D., a Hanover Otolaryngologist (Ears, Nose, Throat) and Facial Plastic Specialist. Dr. Srour will outline new ways to test for and treat allergies, and the latest minimally invasive surgical procedures available to treat chronic sinusitis. A question & answer segment will be offered, and light refreshments will be served.

Balloon Sinuplasty technology is a proven minimally invasive option which is available in Hanover. According to Dr. Srour, "Chronic nasal congestion is one of the most common complaints seen in the primary care setting, and one of the most common causes is chronic sinusitis. This new procedure can open blocked sinuses, restoring sinus drainage and function while preserving normal anatomy and tissue."

Dr. Srour, a member of the Hanover Hospital Medical Staff, is Fellowship Trained in Cranial Base Surgery and Facial Plastic Reconstructive Surgery at Columbia University, New York. He has extensive training and experience in all facets of Otolaryngology, including Rhinology and Sinus Disorders, Pediatric Otolaryngology, Allergy Testing and Treatment Otology-Balance Disorders, Hearing Loss and Vertigo, Voice and Swallowing, Disorders, Obstructive Sleep Apnea & Snoring, and Facial Reconstructive Surgery following trauma and tumor removal, including skin cancer.

Hanover Hospital's new state-of-the-art Operating Rooms feature cutting-edge CAT Scan Navigation Sinus Surgery, similar to a global positioning system (GPS). This image- guided surgical technology has greatly improved success, recovery time, and patient safety.

Dr. Srour's office is located at Hillside Medical Center, 250 Fame Avenue, Suite 205B, Hanover, and new patients are welcome. Pre-registration for the presentation is requested. To register, or for more information, please call: (717) 632-2221.
