Breastfeeding Support

During your stay, your nurses and lactation consultants are available to teach you how to get started with breastfeeding. After discharge, our lactation consultants, maternity staff, nurse midwives and your physicians are available if you have any questions or concerns about breastfeeding. Infant Massage Class

Infant massage provides mothers and fathers with an opportunity to deepen the bond with their new child. Private training over three sessions will include massage oil, informational handouts, and your own personal infant massage book. Call (717) 316-7337 for more information.

Preparing for Childbirth Course & Refresher Course

This class teaches a woman who is expecting how to identify the signs of labor, relaxation and breathing techniques, birth methods and important facts about nutrition. Pre-registration is necessary. For cost and information call (717) 316-2996.

A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls

This program has a volunteer lay leader model program through MaineHealth’s Partnership for Healthy Aging. It emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. Participants will learn the following: to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing physical activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance. Who should attend: anyone concerned about falls, anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility, and strength, anyone who has fallen in the past, and anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns. Personalized Individual Nutrition Counseling
