Farmer’s Markets in York and Adams Counties

In this outreach video, community members were asked a series of questions focusing on their thoughts and knowledge on adult overweight and obesity. Two key points within the interview questions deal with fruits and vegetables and physical activity. Also, participants were asked what they think York County can do to improve the health of our community, specifically concerning adult overweight and obesity.     As part of their services, the Hanover Area Council of Churches provides Meals-on-Wheels (a hot lunch is delivered to home-bound clients, Monday through Friday), Provide-a-Lunch (a hot lunch is served seven days a week), and Ruth's Harvest (bags of nutritious food are packed for eligible students to take home each Friday during the school year).

    Founded in 1982, New Hope Ministries has assistance centers in Dillsburg, Dover, Hanover, Lemoyne, Mechanicsburg, and New Oxford, PA which serve parts of Adams and York Counties, and the West Shore area of Cumberland County. Services are available to people regardless of their age, race, gender or religious affiliation.
