Starting your life together
You, your baby and your family will enjoy the first days of a new life together in one of our private post-birth rooms. Each room is spacious enough to accommodate family and visitors. There is also a nursery located on the unit, as well as a family lounge.
If you have any questions or concerns about breastfeeding, infant care or your own recovery, our caring nurses and lactation consultants have the answers. 

Complimentary Meal
After the hard work of delivering a baby, you deserve special treatment, so we pamper you with a restaurant-style meal service. One complimentary meal is provided for a family member during your stay, and other meals for family members can be purchased upon request. A list of available meals is provided on a menu in your room. Meal prices are $5.00 for lunch and dinner, $2.00 for breakfast and for children’s meals.

A secure and safe beginning
Your family’s safety and peace of mind is our first priority at Hanover Hospital. We’ve taken every possible step to ensure your baby’s well-being and safety, including a 24-hour security staff, an advanced security camera system, and an identification badge and infant protection system. Be sure to remind your family and friends to register at the reception desk to receive required visitor badges.

Infant health screenings
To aid in identifying babies at risk, we perform blood testing to screen for a total of 52 metabolic diseases—an exhaustive screening that will give you added peace of mind. In addition, we perform a hearing test on each newborn prior to discharge so that any hearing loss can be detected and evaluated as soon as possible.

Shop from the comfort of your room
If you or your baby need a prescription filled during your hospital stay, we’ll be happy to order it for you from our pharmacy, the Hanover Apothecary, located in the Medical Office Building, 310 Stock Street, Suite 1. Other medical supplies can also be ordered from them, including a full selection of breastfeeding supplies, breast pumps, baby slings, books and more. For your convenience, your supplies and medications will be delivered right to your room.
