New Beginnings Nicotine Support Group
This free support group offers an informal opportunity for discussion dedicated to the exploration, encouragement and support of a tobacco-free lifestyle. Open to individuals planning to quit, those who have quit, or those wanting more information on how to quit tobacco use. A.W.A.K.E.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every other month (even months), 6–8 p.m. This group is sponsored by the ASAA (American Sleep Apnea Association) and provides support for people with sleep apnea. Call (717) 633-2229 for more information.
Better Breathers
This group meets quarterly, 6–8 p.m., at Hillside Medical Center, 250 Fame Avenue, Hanover, in Conference Room 209. Meetings occur the first Thursday of March, June, September and December each year, and each includes a presentation on a pre-determined pulmonary topic. It is geared towards supporting people with lung disease, their families and friends and anyone else interested in learning more about lung disease. Chair Aerobics
This fitness class meets every Thursday, 3–4 p.m. at Hillside Medical Fitness Center, 250 Fame Avenue, Suite 100. Tailored for those with physical restrictions. It may be helpful to individuals with pulmonary or cardiac issues, those in physical rehab stages, those with weight loss concerns, and women in late stage pregnancy. All exercises are low impact and may be performed with or without the aid of a chair. No registration is required and the program is free for all attendees.
