Visiting Hours

Welcome to Hanover Hospital.

A visit from a friend or loved one can really brighten up a patient’s day.  However, please remember that rest is an important part of recovery.

The visiting hours for each unit are appropriate to the needs of its patients and are subject to restriction by the patient’s physician.  

General Medical/Surgical:                       

8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Maternity:                                                   

Card Access at all times.

Any visitor under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Visitor passes are required.

Critical Care Area:

Visiting is restricted to immediate family and clergy (unless otherwise designated by the patient) at these times:

11 a.m. – 11:20 a.m.

2 p.m. – 2:20 p.m.

7 p.m. – 7:20 p.m.

Pediatrics:

Card Access at all times.

Any visitor under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Visitor passes are required.

Center for Acute Rehabilitative Medicine

CARM Unit:

11 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Children accompanied by adult may visit.

The number of visitors will not be restricted but may be modified to accommodate a large number of visitors at one time.

Emergency Department:

Two visitors only

Visiting Reminders

A visit from a friend or loved one can really brighten up a patient’s day.  However, please remember that rest is an important part of recovery.

Please limit visitors to two at a time.

Visits should be limited to 15 minutes to avoid tiring patients.

People with colds or other infectious diseases should not visit.

Visitors under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under age 12 are not permitted where isolation concerns exist.

All visitors coming into the hospital after 8 p.m. must receive an After Hours pass from Security at the Building Operations Center, 1st floor of the East Building/Emergency Ambulatory Entrance.

Visitors should not bring food or refreshments to a patient without the consent of the patient’s physician or nurse.

If a patient needs help, please get a nurse.  Do not attempt to help the patient yourself.

Hospitality Shops / Gifts

The Hospitality Shop, operated by the Auxiliary of the Hospital and located in the lobby, offers jewelry, home décor items, magazines, toiletries, candy, toys, gifts, and greeting cards.  The Hospitality Shop is open:

Monday – Friday                   9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

                                             6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Saturday                              11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Sunday                                 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Telephone Service 

Patient rooms may be contacted by calling (717) 637-3711 or 1-800-673-2426, and asking for the patient by name, room, and bed number, or telephone extension.  Pay phones and courtesy phones for inhouse calls are located throughout the hospital.  For assistance with the courtesy phones, please dial 0 for the operator.

Valet parking / Concierge Services

Valet/Concierge Services are available at the Main Lobby to assist those patients and visitors who may need additional assistance with parking, directions, wheel chairs, or other needs.

Chapel

A Chapel/Meditation Room is available to patients and family members at all times.  The Chapel is located on the first floor at the top of the ramp beyond the laboratory.  It is available for people of all faiths or no particular faith.  Reverend Eric Stenman can be reached by calling ext. 6905 within the hospital, (717) 646-6905, or 1-800-673-2426 ext. 6905.

Cafeteria Services

The Food & Nutrition Services Department at Hanover Hospital will provide complete food and nutrition services to our customers.  Food Services includes preparation and service of nutritious and appetizing food to patients, staff, visitors, and medical staff.  Nutrition Services includes in-patient and out-patient assessment, diet consultation and education, and nutrition education programs for community organizations, local businesses, and the general public.

Cafeteria Hours:

Hanover Hospital’s Cafeteria is located in the basement level of the hospital.  Meals are served at the following times:

 

Hot Breakfast

Every Day                                           7 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Lunch                                                            

Every Day                                          11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

                              

Soup, Salad, Deli & Grill

Monday – Friday                                2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday                        3 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Dinner

Every Day                                          4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

The Food & Nutrition Services Department's mission is to contribute to the hospital’s promotion of wellness, preservation of health, and provision of services to our customers.
