Physiatry, or Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, is a medical subspecialty focusing on functional restoration in individuals who are affected by physical disability incurred by injury or disease. Optimal function is achieved through physical therapy and modalities, (e.g., heat, ultrasound, cryotherapy), and medications. Treatment encompasses all age groups as well as a variety of medical conditions, musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.
Dr. Schneider is the Medical Director of the Center for Acute Rehabilitative Medicine (CARM) at Hanover Hospital. She does not see patients outside of the hospital.
